  • Use diphenhydramine 50 mg capsules (average weight = 160 mg)
  • Use haloperidol 10 mg tablets (average weight = 130 mg)
  • Use lorazepam 2 mg tablets (average weight = 105 mg)
  • Use lactose as the powder diluent.
  • Use size 2 clear gelatin capsules with a target weight of 300 mg.
  • Base calculations on the preparation of 2 extra capsules.

Procedure:
  1. Carefully open diphenhydramine capsules and weigh g of diphenhydramine powder.
     
         
     
     
  2. Place haloperidol tablets into a mortar and triturate to a fine powder. Weigh g of haloperidol crushed tablet powder.
     
         
     
     
  3. Place lorazepam tablets into a mortar and triturate to a fine powder. Weigh g of lorazepam crushed tablet powder.
     
         
     
     
  4. Begin by placing the powder into a glass mortar because it is the powder with the amount.
     
     
  5. Add the entire amount of powder and mix intimately using a pestle in a circular grinding motion referred to as
     
     
  6. Add the entire amount of powder to the mortar and triturate until the mixture is uniform.
     
     
  7. Add the entire amount of powder to the mortar and triturate until the mixture is uniform.
     
     
  8. Transfer the powder mixture onto a piece of ointment paper and the mixture into a of powder using large metal spatulas.
     
     
  9. Punch capsules to a target weight of 300 mg using size 2 clear gelatin capsules.
     
     
  10. Acceptable capsule weights based on a 5% error range from a low of mg, to a high of mg.
     
     
  11. Polish the capsules and transfer to a 6 dram prescription bottle.
